Projects to protect heritage from climate change (Africa)

Call summary :

ALIPH has launched a USD 10 million Call for Projects to protect cultural heritage from the impact of climate change.

This initiative, which prioritizes projects in Africa, will support practical and field-based projects to protect or rehabilitate cultural heritage. It will also finance capacity building for local professionals and promote applied research, including in areas that address the advancement and transfer of traditional knowledge.

With this call, ALIPH is looking to support projects in the following categories:
- Protection, conservation, rehabilitation
- Capacity-building and knowledge transfer
- Actionable research

The Call is open to NGOs/CSOs, heritage protection institutions, private organizations, universities, and research centers.

To be considered, projects need to fulfil certain criteria, in particular relevance, quality, feasibility and sustainability, and impact.

Apply before 21 November 2024, 3 pm CET.

The final decision will be communicated to applicants by July 2025.
