Call summary :

UN-Habitat Nepal is inviting proposals from interested institutions with the capacity to provide the consultancy service of video production for the project “Accelerating the localization of integrated climate actions in Nepal".

Context

The Joint Programme (JP) "Accelerating the Localization of Integrated Climate Actions in Nepal", implemented by WFP, UN-Habitat and UNDP, supports transforming SDG 13 (Climate Action) into reality at the local level. The JP focuses on three municipalities across Karnali, Lumbini, and Madhesh provinces, aiming to strengthen local planning, policy, and financing to benefit the most climate-vulnerable populations. Evidence, lessons learned, and best practices will be documented and used to advocate replication nationwide. To amplify and share these experiences, UN-Habitat requires a high-quality video showcasing the JP’s journey—from inception through implementation—to inspire decision-makers, practitioners, and communities across Nepal.

Summary

The main objective of this joint programme is to accelerate the SDG implementation through integrated, localised climate actions and frameworks in Nepal for minimizing the impacts of climate change, particularly in benefit of those most marginalised and poor.
The main objectives of this service are to:
- Document the best projects, and practices, on climate action through the impact stories.
- Highlight the stories of climate-smart innovations and lessons learnt (e.g. climate-smart agriculture, heat reflecting paints, water-recharge, rooftop garden, rainwater harvesting, permeable pavement etc).
- Feature voices of federal and local governments, experts, communities, and UN agencies.
- Present a compelling visual narrative for scaling the local climate actions.

Expected Outputs

1. Knowledge on successful gender-responsive and inclusive climate actions collated to develop an integrated framework for localization of relevant SDGs.
2. Targeted local governments capacitated with an integrated gender responsive policy framework developed in a participatory manner to advance development that is increasingly sustainable and climate resilient through localization of successful climate actions.
3. Evidence-based advocacy and communications for scaling up of an integrated climate action localization framework promoted to enhance awareness and access to finance.
